Buses, car rental companies, limos, taxis and even water shuttles all come together to provide passengers of LaGuardia Airport plenty of transport options, meaning that you can easily travel all over New York and beyond, including Bellerose Terrace, Elmont, Great Neck, Jersey City, Union City and University Gardens. LaGuardia's terminal buildings each have their very own Ground Transportation Center to help make your onward journey as easy as possible, being managed by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA).

LGA LaGuardia Airport is served by many regular public buses, departing from the terminal buildings. Particularly popular is the New York Airport Service Express Bus, which connects directly with the Manhattan district (106th and Broadway), the Bronx, Queens and Staten Island. NYC Airporter buses are heavily used and depart every 30 minutes, traveling to and from the Grand Central Station and Penn Station. The Ground Transportation Center has details of all bus times and routes.

Taxi Cabs


Taxis are readily available at LaGuardia and travel into nearby New York city, as well as Connecticut, New Jersey, Suffolk and Westchester County. The journey into central New York will take around 20 to 35 minutes. Taxis regularly travel to Manhattan (Upper, Mid and Lower), the Bronx (The Hub and Riverdale), Brookly (downtown and Coney Island), Queens (City Field and Main Street / 60th Avenue) and Staten Island (New Dorp Lane and Victory Boulevard). LaGuardia taxis can also be used to travel between the terminals and other New York airports, such as John F. Kennedy (JFK) and Newark Liberty (EWR). Approximate taxi fares are displayed at the Ground Transportation Information desks in each of the terminals.

Delta Water Shuttle


Travel by the Delta Water Shuttle provides an especially scenic and enjoyable way to reach Manhattan, docking at Wall Street Pier 11 and East 34th Street Pier. The Marine Air Terminal is connected by regular shuttle buses and the journey takes around 25 minutes. Water shuttles run every hour on weekdays only, from 07:45 to 18:30.
